Walgros says it will offer tickets for the 2015-16 season at its new stores, starting with three new stores in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
The announcement is the first major step toward opening more than 200 new locations in the U.S.
The company will announce additional stores at the end of the year, Walgreen spokesman Michael F. Hager said on Friday.
The first two stores are in Miami and Browards counties.
The announcement comes a day after Walgarts stock fell more than 5% after reports that it would open only two new stores and shut down three other locations.
In a statement, the company said that “we continue to monitor the situation and are evaluating our options.”
The company, which has a large presence in Florida and across the country, has been dealing with the slow opening of stores as it grapples with a massive labor shortage.
Walgores has had to shut down a handful of stores since it announced a deal with Walmart to buy the nation’s largest discount chain in 2013.
