Tickets for the 2016 Las Vegas Metropolitan Lottery have sold through their $1.5 million allotment, making this the first year tickets have sold beyond their $500,000 allotment.
The 2016 Nevada Lottery, which had already sold out of tickets in late June, had originally advertised that tickets were available for $1,500, but they were available only on the first day.
The $1M prize is for winning the 2016 Lotto California Lottery jackpot.
“We are happy to confirm that tickets are still available for purchase on the day of the draw,” a spokesperson for the lottery said in a statement.
Lottery officials said the sale was completed on Wednesday.
The ticket sale was announced a day after the jackpot was announced at a lottery office in California.
The winner of the 2016 lottery jackpot, known as the 2017 US Lottery Super Mega Millions, will receive $5.5 billion.
